Mission:The Department of Economics has been functioning since the inception of the college in 1991. Its basic function is to broaden the learner’s perspective by introducing them to the various conception of economics. The study of economics helps students to understand the world around them. It enables the students to understand business, markets and governments and therefore better respond to the threats and opportunities that emerge when things change. Learning of Economics are well positioned in an ever- changing world because they have problem solving and analytical skills that allow them to succeed in variety career paths- law, risk management, actuary, finance, foreign affairs, public administration, politics, policy analysis, health administration, entrepreneurship, market analysis, journalism and unknown career of the future. The department of economics is mainly interested in providing quality education for personality development to the students through critical thinking and problem solving skills to make good decision for them. It offers need- based programmes providing in an academic environment of quality higher education and helps students for finding job opportunity in various sectors. The department of economics regularly organizes group discussion, seminars, debate, etc. for allround development of the students.
